Charles F. "Chuck" Wythe, 84, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 12, 1940 in Mason, Michigan, the son of Ralph and Dale Wythe. Chuck married his sweetheart, Nancy Grenke, on November 26, 1960 in Marengo, Illinois. He was employed as a machinist at Mattson Machine Works in Rockford. Chuck was a member of Belvidere Church of Christ for many years. He and Nancy started Woodchuck Woodworks in 1987, where they both created beautiful pieces of art. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed fishing and collecting stamps and coins. He was an avid reader. Chuck was a true cheesehead, who supported the Green Bay Packers since 1955.
Chuck is loved and missed by his wife of 64 years, Nancy; children, Wendy (Terry) Scholl, Greg (Jamie) Wythe and Steve (Macey) Wythe; grandchildren, Kencie (Braden) Hovell, Grayson (Samantha) Scholl, Baylee Wythe and Brooke Wythe; great-grandchildren, Brynnlee Mae Scholl and Emerie Rae Scholl; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Belvidere Church of Christ, 1771 5th Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008 with a funeral service to begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
