Clara C. Moss

Clara was born February 27, 1916, in Ottawa, IL, to Jacob N. and Eva E. (Conrad) Keller. She was a 1934 graduate of Ottawa High School. On September 12, 1942, she married N. F. “Johnny” Moss at the Camp Swift Chapel in Texas. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2011.

In her earlier years she enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to a bridge club.

Clara was a member of Holy Family Church, Rockford. As a devout Catholic, she prayed her rosary daily. Humble and strong, she was generous to others, thinking of the needs of others before her own. Mostly she cherished the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (La Verne) Ohlwine of Rockford, daughter-in-law, Laurie Moss of Peru, IL; two grandchildren, Michael Moss of Peru, IL and Julie (Jeff) Miller of Appleton, WI.; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Brodie Moss and Madeline and Mia Miller; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her son, John H. “Jack” Moss; an infant great-grandson, Duncan M. Moss; her parents, three brothers, Michael, Martin and Frank Keller; two sisters, Magdalene Parisot and one in infancy.

Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, with Father David Reese officiating. Visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. To share a memory or sign the guestbook, please visit sunsetfhmemgardens.com
