Dan Farley

Machesney Park—Dan Farley, 59, of Machesney Park went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Kindred Hospital-Sycamore. He was born March 7, 1952, in Kennett, Missouri, to Robert and Norma (Cypret) Farley. On June 27, 1981, he married Connie Smolinski in Rockton. He had been a lifelong resident of the Rockford area. He liked playing his guitars and the keyboard. He enjoyed Nascar and casinos. He loved being around his nieces and nephews, and was fondly known as “Uncle Dan” to many. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his father, Robert Farley; his brother, Rob Farley; his sisters, Carol Farley, Jodi (Don) Rice, Jeanine Farley; his sister-in-law, Carol Butt; his brother-in-law, Larry (Beverly) Smolinski; his special niece, Kandy (Doug) Jones; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma; his sister, Sharon Plasters, and her husband, Tim. Visitation will be from Noon to 2pm on Saturday, June 25, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd.
