Daniel Dalton Higginbotham

Daniel D. Higginbotham, 31, of Sulphur, LA, formerly of Machesney Park, IL, passed away suddenly, Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born September 13, 1990 in Altamonte Springs, FL, the son of Michael and Virginia (Bullard) Higginbotham. Daniel graduated from Harlem High School, class of 2009 and went on to enroll at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a project manager for Westlake Chemical. Daniel was a proud fur parent to his dogs, Lego and Stella. Daniel enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. He loved attending Tech football games with his dad. Most of all, he adored being with his family and friends.

Daniel is loved and missed by his parents, Virginia (Bill) Blythe and Michael (Tammy) Higginbotham; siblings, David (Myrena) Higginbotham and Sierra (Nate) Gill; step-siblings, Preston (Stephanie) Blythe, Britni Gore and Terry Blythe; nieces and nephews, Ava, Anthony, Alijah, Alden, Aeden, Ashten, Jaxon, Jagger and Layker; uncles, Terry (Colleen) Higginbotham and Mike Bullard; cousins, Jon (Andrea) Higginbotham and Erin (Evan) Riggs; companion, Ashley Corner and her son, Dylan; special “aunt,” Debbie Moline and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie and Billie Higginbotham and Michael and Judith Prindle.

A memorial gathering will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service to begin at 10:00 a.m.
