David "Dave" E. Schneider

David E. "Dave" Schneider, 68, of Rock City, IL, passed away, Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family and his loyal dog, Payton. Dave was born March 14, 1956 in West Union, Iowa, the son of Harry and Mary (Trusty) Schneider. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1975. Dave married the love of his life, Debra Akerman on July 4, 1987 in Rockton, IL. He was employed by Sundstrand Aerospace for 30 years and was a member and officer of Local 592. Dave was an avid car enthusiast, who loved classic cars and hot rods. He was notorious for helping out anyone in the community and was a friend to all. Dave enjoyed being outdoors and doing yard work on his property. He enjoyed attending car shows and going on country rides. Most of all, Dave was a family man who will be deeply missed.

David is survived by his loving wife, Deb; children, Nathan (Jenny) Schneider, Janelle (Gary) Kiely, Jeremy (Chelsey) Akerman and Kelli (Joel) Cuttill; grandchildren, Brett (Gigi), Branden, Marysa (Tony), Daryan (Brittni), Aria, Gavin and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Emmalynn, Rhea and Emryn; siblings, Duane (Linda) Schneider, Diane (Burton) Roush, Jim (Sally) Schneider and Susan (Kirk) Moeller; sister-in-laws, Pam (Rick) Hemphill, Sue (Lee) Gerth and Michelle Mehlberger; brother-in-laws, Dan (Connie) Gerth, Michael Gerth and Scott (Lee) Gerth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Schneider and sister-in-law Patti Wolfe.
