David K. Steiner

David K. Steiner, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Rockford, IL, on April 22, 1956, to Kenneth and Mary Ellen Steiner. Dave lived a life rich with passion for both his family and his work.

David's early years were spent in Loves Park, where he attended Harlem High School and became deeply involved in the ROTC program. After his high school graduation in 1974, he pursued an education in electronics, earning an associate's degree in electronics engineering technology from DeVry University. He worked for many years as a healthcare technician, where his attention to detail and commitment to helping others made him an invaluable member of the community.

David was a devoted family man. He is survived by his children, Joseph (June) Steiner, Rebecca (Steve) Hamm, and Bethany (Bryan) Jenkins; his grandchildren, Lucas, Jaden, Ethan, Kaleb, and Keanu; and his great-grandson, Adam. He also leaves behind his siblings, Debbie Rush and Brian Steiner; as well as his two nieces and a nephew: Kindra Rush, Kaylin (Matthew) Plew, and Tim Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Ellen Steiner, his sister, Cynthia Steiner, and his nephew, Joel Rush.

David will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to lend a hand, and his love for his family. His dedication to his work and his loved ones left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A private service will take place at Sunset Funeral Home.
