Denyce Charter-Cantrell, 55, Rockford, passed away on May 25, 2013. She was born on June 4, 1957 in Chicago to Jack and Audrey (Morley) Dempsey. She graduated from Guilford High School and worked as a Car Salesman/Manager and later as a CNA/EMT. She married Tom Cantrell on February 12, 1998.
Denyce loved to watch soap operas and the Chicago Bears; she also enjoyed swimming with her grandkids and socializing with her friends.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her children, Tracy (Dirk) Matthews and Cortney (Croy) Fisher; and grandchildren, Bailey, Brayden , and Jaxon. Denyce is also survived by numerous special friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Phyllis Morley; and uncle, Al Zullo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice.
A memorial service will held 2pm, Friday, May 31st 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Wendell Maynard will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1pm to the time of service. Cremation rites will be accorded.
