Diana M. Williams

Diana M. Williams, 82, of Winnebago, IL, passed away peacefully Friday evening, February 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 9, 1940 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Aladino and Anne Gambini. Diana graduated from East High School and went on to marry her sweetheart and the love of her life, Kenneth Williams, on July 2, 1960 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Rockford. She was the office manager and assistant for Dr. Henry Pemberton in Rockford for 23 years. Diana attended St. Rita’s Church where she was involved with the CCD for 10 years. Diana had a love of music and could play any song by ear on her organ. She loved playing the organ for Kenneth every morning. Fondly known as “Nanee” by her grandchildren, Diana loved cooking and baking birthday cakes for all of her family every year. She enjoyed traveling with Ken; some of the highlights were going on 15 cruises and going to Europe for 6 weeks for their 25th wedding anniversary. Diana adored being with her family, especially when they went to their cabin in Minocqua. Diana is loved and will be deeply missed by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth; children, Julie Johnson, Douglas (Dr. Kimberly) Williams and Marc (Jenny) Williams; grandchildren, Chelsea (Matt) Johnson, Melissa (Jared) McGuire, Taylor Williams, Kylie Williams, Trevor Williams, Evan Williams, Austin Williams; 2 Great-Granddaughters who she adored, Bristyl and Finnley and many bonus grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Dr. Kimberly Williams for her loving and compassionate care of Diana at the end of her journey. A visitation will be held from 9:-00-10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
