Doris Neumann Franklin

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater and taught for 35 years, retiring from the Rockford School District. After her retirement, she worked as a Realtor for Soward’s Real Estate.

Doris was member of Trinity Lutheran Church, The Order of The Eastern Star, The Regional Parkinson Association of Wisconsin and a variety of other organizations. Mom loved music, playing piano, children and was an excellent seamstress.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandie (Steve) Elrick and Vickie (Charles) Allton; son in law, Larry Fiene; grandchildren, Teresa (John) Wenger, Andrea (Greg) Kittle, Eric (Carla) Fiene, Lynne (Scott) Twigg, Shirmayne (Rich) Tyler, Sara Johnson and Laura (Bart) Bloese. Doris is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, sisters; Lois Smith and Helen Turney; and nephew Al (Lois) Neumann.

Doris is preceded in death by her husbands; Theodore Neumann and Edwin Franklin; a brother, Denette Lemke and daughter, Barbara Fiene.

Funeral service will be held at 11am, Thursday August 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park. Pastor Jay Quinn will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
