Doris M. Lenius

Doris married the love of her life and best friend, Laverne “Len” Lenius, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and many memorable adventures. For 17 winters, Doris and Len made their second home in Florida, where Doris once proudly scored a hole-in-one, an unforgettable moment for a lifelong golf enthusiast. Doris was a member of both the Atwood and Macktown Ladies 18-Hole Golf Leagues. Her love for the sport brought her joy, lasting friendships, and a sense of camaraderie that meant the world to her. She worked for 17 years as a supervisor at Warner Lambert, where her strong work ethic, leadership, and compassion earned the respect of her colleagues. Doris was also a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois.

She is survived by her daughters, Jan Keirn and Carolyn King; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne C. Lenius; son Mike Lenius; all of her brother's and sister's.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 9am until the time of service at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). Entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace.
