So very sad to hear of Richard passing. I lost touch with my church family years ago and it’s very sad to hear of news like this. Richard was a great man of what I knew, I think he really stood out for me at church because I was the only other one that was really as tall as he was, haha. I enjoyed the time I shared with him in church, our conversations and meals shared at the church. I will miss him. My condolences to the family, very sorry I couldn’t make the services.

I could not have asked for a better Dad. Growing up he was so much fun! When I was little he would let us fix his hair & make him pretty. In the summer we had family picnics which included fishing (with his brothers, sisters & all the cousins) at RockCut. Winter was sledding with family and friends. Also ice fishing on Pierce Lake. Once he even made my sister and I our own ice skating rink in our back yard, it might have had a few lumpy spots but we had hours of fun skating. He took us camping, fishing, bike riding and to amusement parks. Dad loved couching for KenRock. He couched my softball team for several years, then the Rockford General Baptist Church slow-pitch softball team that his
granddaughter and I played on. At Halloween, Dad would take me and my friends to Haunted houses, he was always game for a good scare. Before I could drive, he was the chauffeur that took me and my friends to the movies and actually watched the movie with us. Dad loved being a grandpa, he taught his granddaughter to fish, play softball, watched her play tennis and soccer for school. Dad loved his church family and serving the Lord. He was a Decon for 34 years. He also taught a Sunday School for many years. Dad was always there for me and I am so glad that I could be there for him when he needed me most. I will miss him but he will alway be with me for I have my memories of the stories he loved to tell and all the good times we spent together.

Williams Family. Richard and all the Williams family will always have a special in my heart! I know my Dad always appreciated the time he and Richard served God together as Deacons at Rockford First General Baptist. All my love and prayers are with you!

I remember him as Cindy's dad. A funny guy who couldn't stop making jokes and teasing his wife. He was an example of what a good, loving father and husband is!

I remember going to uncle Richards when I was younger me and Kelly would play. He was a good man and he loved God and his family. We will miss him but we also know he is with God and we take comfort in this. Kelly Cindy and aunt Melda I am sorry I am not able to be there with you but I love you all and I will be thinking of you all. Love Lorie
