G.B. Owens

He was employed for 35 years before retiring at Rockford Spring Company.

G.B. was a board member at Harlem Community Center and The R.A.G.S League where he coached Boys and Girls softball and basketball. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He married Patricia (Graydon) on December 20, 1958.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia, his daughter, Teresa (Matt) Fetters of Rockford, his son, Grant of Wisconsin, his daughter, Gwen (Jim) Smith of Loves Park, his son, Gary (Aiping) of Peoria, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, brothers, Bill (Alma) Owens of Shirley, AR, Hal (Wanda) Owens of Clinton, AR, and Randall (Ellen) Owens of Footville, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Marsha.

G.B. will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held From 9:00am-10:00am on Friday, April 6 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Funeral Services will begin at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Chapel of Love. Pastor Ron Haese will officiate services.
