To Laura and Family,
We are so sad to hear about Bill. We always enjoyed the years our kids were growing up and celebrating all of their accomplishments.  There was nothing like the picnics and parties. In life there are people you meet and make friends with and then there are people you meet that are more like family. That is the Lengjack family. We love all of you.

Not going to lie, losing Bill Sr. hurts. There is an open secret about the Lengjaks. They are a force, not just a family, and Bill as the patriarch helped mold that. The Lengjak clan is my second family, and I will always love them like the parents, brothers and sister they are no matter how many years pass between being able to catch up. I am grateful that I was able to stop by and talk with Bill and Laura when I could. Those stops always felt like being home again. With the Lengjaks, you will be hard pressed to find a family that has been more caring and selfless towards others. So many kids came through that home and felt like it was their own. Everyone that ever walked into that house felt safe and loved and I can’t begin to say how grateful I am for that. The number of pancakes served, and pizzas consumed is staggering. The retrospect of just how special that was is stunning. The only criticism I have of Bill is not changing his last name to something that a small child could actually spell when they’re trying to write something to their best friend. He could have gone with just “Bob” or something. I would have loved to have been able to say, “here’s my friend Mike Bob”, but nooooooooo, it was not to be. However, that was one of the first things I learned to spell, the clan’s name, and I still say it in my head like the mantra that helped me memorize it whenever I needed to talk about everyone. Most of my favorite memories are of blur of days packing 8+ kids into a station wagon and going to a store or really anywhere. The number of lost twinkies and marathon bars in those cars was epic and I’m sure some of those twinkies are still safe in those old car frames somewhere. I’m going to miss him, but I am also going to always be eternally grateful for who he was and that he planted his clan where he did so I could be a part of that life that was so enriching. I toast Bills life well lived and hope I can make as much of an impact to someone as he did for me.

So sorry for the loss of the INTERESTING head of your family!  The story of his life in his obituary portrayed a long and productive life well lived.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Lengjak family.
The family is such an asset to their community as the children were
growing up. I believe hey loved and cared for everyone in the community and everyone certainly loved them. Our family has missed them and think of them and the good times very often since
we moved to Arizona many years ago.
RIP Bill and may the family take comfort in having such a wonderful husband, father and we are sure grandfather.

I did not know George as well as I wish I did. I do appreciate him giving me a chance in the union with only a little knowledge of me. From what I have heard over the years, I can only pray to be as good of a man he was. RIP (John Wayne).

George and Laura welcomed me into their home as if I were one of their own. Always kind and willing to feed me at the family table. I have many great memories of George but most of all I wished I would have had a father like him kind and loving and always ready to help you out. You will always be a good memory for me rest in peace Sir.

I always look forward to stopping by Laura and Bill's house to chat. What I thought of my stop would only be a short bit, it was always so delightful that time just flew by and I would be leaving the well after even they expected. I really cherished every visit
