Gloria J. Prather

Gloria J. Prather “Crackers”, 75, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away on April 10, 2026. Gloria was born on April 10, 1951, to Darwin and June Martinson. Over the years, Gloria was employed with Clinton Electronics and Barbara Coleman, and EcoLab.

She enjoyed camping, as she loved being outside. She was also quite crafty and creative, working on anything from cross stitching to home décor. Gloria enjoyed cooking, and if you went to her house, it was impossible to leave hungry. When the opportunity arose, she loved to play slots. Above all else, Gloria had a deep love and appreciation for cats. For some reason, cats just naturally gravitated to her and felt safe in her presence.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Theresa “Teri” Hopkins and Katie (Tracy Capitano) Prather; husband/life partner, Richard Prather; grandchildren, Samantha (Michael) Ringel, Emily (Lucas Borre) Hopkins, and Makenna Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Ellie Borre and Lettie Borre; 7 siblings; numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darwin and June; brother, Richard Martinson.

A celebration of life for Gloria will be announced in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
