Howard Morrison, 87, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, April 22, 2020 at Saint Anthony Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1932 in Tennessee. Howard served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He married the love of his life, Dorles Smith. Howard was a machinist at Borg-Warner for many years before retirement. He was a sports fanatic, and enjoyed playing golf. Howard liked gardening in his spare time. Most of all, Howard adored his family and loved spending time with them.
Howard is loved and missed by his grandchildren, Joshua Arthur and Samantha Higgs; son-in-law, Bruce Arthur; sister, Mary Ellen Larkins; special nephew and niece, Tim and Karen Turner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorles, and his daughters, Patricia Higgs and Glynda Arthur, and brother-in-law, Jim Larkins.
A private graveside service will take place. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date
