Irene F Lindberg

Irene F. Lindberg, 98, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Born, February 3, 1915 in Sherwood Township, WI, she was the proud daughter of Clarence and Martha (Schwanebeck) Freedlund.

Irene married Bernard Lindberg on January 10, 1942 in Rockford.

Irene was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was an extremely hard worker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Her survivors include, her children, Kathleen (Euan) Richardson, Douglas (Martha) Lindberg, and Cecilia (Chris) Mann; grandchildren, Emily (Jimmy) Barrett, Sarah (John) Komara, Amanda (Brandon) Carter, Stephanie (Marty Galloway) Lindberg, Alex Lindberg, Ellen Mann, and Jeffrey Mann; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Long.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 5 brothers.

Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4700 Agustana Dr, Rockford. Pastor Ken Storck officiating. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
