Jack M Small

Jack M. Small, 77, Rockford, passed away on June 24, 2013. He was born on October 26, 1935 at Petrolia, Illinois to Icle and Lora (Keen) Small. He attended high school at Bridgeport Township and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. Jack later married Mona Doane on October 26, 1958 at the 1st Christian Church in Bridgeport, Illinois.

Jack was a member of Al’s Camping Club, UAW local 592 and was also a member of the Alamo Baptist Church in Alamo, Texas and Calvary Baptist Church in Rockford.

He is survived by his wife, Mona; children, Brian Small of Rockford, Dee Small of San Antonio, and John Small of Rockford; grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, Krystal and Roland. Jack is also survived by his brother, Gaylord (Sarah) Small of Robinson, Illinois and nephew, Mike Small of Evansville, Indiana.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Junella Small.

Funeral service will be held at 11am, June 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Mike Killian will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10am to time of service. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
