James R. Holeton

James R. "Jim" Holeton, 84, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, November 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 5, 1941 in Pepperton Township, Minnesota, the son of Harvey and Myrtle (Danzeisen) Holeton. He graduated from Pecatonica High School, class of 1960. Jim married the love of life, Iona K. Bloomingdale, on November 29, 1963. He worked many years at Barber Colman on Rock Street in Rockford and retired from Rockford Products. Jim was a member of Good Times Car Club of Rockford, where he was proud to show off his 1986 Chevy El Camino and won many trophies. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Jim and Iona enjoyed watching local softball games. He will be remembered as a family man who will truly be missed.

Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Iona; children, Karl Holeton, Kerry (Debbie) Holeton and Kevin Holeton; daughter-in-law, Mary Holeton; grandchildren, Josh (Heather) Rich, Kreg Holeton, Kerry Holeton II, Kyler (Roxy) Holeton and Kohl Holeton; great-grandchildren, Brighton, Lucas, Piper, Kyla, Kayslan and Kallahan; siblings, Larry (Lois) Holeton, Mary Ann Voss, Jack (Bert) Holeton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
