Jim M. Holmes, 76, of Rockton, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Born April 22, 1942 in Roosevelt, Louisiana. He lived there until he joined the U.S. army in 1959. After the army he got his journeyman's card as a machine repair technician. In his younger days he enjoyed drag racing at Byron dragway, boating in Wisconsin, and bowling with friends on a league. Jim loved to work and take care of his family. Later in life he enjoyed playing cards on the computer and riding his Harley. He loved working his job at Custom Metal Products. Jim loved watching his grandkids grow up and spending as much time as he could with his great grandkids.
Survivors include his Wife of 53 years Janice Holmes; daughter, Theresa Conley (Jason Long); grandkids, Alyssa (Dale) Kirkendoll and Zaccarie Conley; Great Grandkids, Trystan and Adelynn Kirkendoll; mother Blanche Gary of Bastrop,Louisiana. Predeceased by his daughter Missy Holmes; father, Buford Holmes; brother, Richard Holmes.
