She was a graduate from Rockford East High School and married John “Rusty” Behrens in 1959.
Jeannette was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, she loved animals and at one time was roller skater dancer.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Cantere; brother, William Tharp; nieces, Sandy (Bill) Kukendall, Anna Camp, Monika (Charles) Forrette, Shelley (Mark) Andrukaitis; and nephews, John (Janice) Camp and Steve Skoglund.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, William and Mildred; and a sister, Gwen Camp.
A funeral service will be held at 10am, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Bill Dahlberg will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
