John David Reiling

John (Dave) was born on June 19th, 1957. Originally from Crestview, Florida, Dave's free spirit landed him

in Rockford, IL, where he met the love of his life, Patti Wanke. They married and had 4 children together.

Member of St Paul Lutheran Church.

Dave loved fishing, playing pool with his son Jacob, story-telling, and most of all taking care of his grandchildren.

Dave was a charmer, he could befriend just about anyone he met. He was always willing to help someone in

need in any way he could. He went through many struggles, but still could find a way for him and his family to survive.

Predeceased by his wife, Patti (Wanke) Reiling.

He leaves behind his children; David Reiling, Zach Reiling, Brittany (Zac) Wilken, Caitlyn Reiling,

and Jacob Reiling, along with his three grandsons; Julian, Walter, and Landon, and his granddaughter, Ellie.

As well as nieces, nephews, and several friends.

Dave will be missed by many, but his legacy and spirit will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren forever.

Memorial Service at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park.

Pastor David J Thies will be officiating. Visitation at 1pm until time of service.
