John W. Stone

John married Joan Liske on June 30, 1956. He was employed as a car salesman at Speedway Auto Mall until his retirement in 2005.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. John was an lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and all around sportsman. John was a volunteer football coach, baseball coach and referee. He also enjoyed fishing, gambling, and the horse races.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Joan; his children, Susan (Kevin) Jensen, John (Debra) Stone, Mick Stone, Judy (Denny) Hybarger, Donald ( Mandy) Stone, Tom ( Sue) Stone and MaryJo (Joe) Meier. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren ,18 great grandchildren; sister Donna (Larry) Crum, and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sally Stone; an infant sister, and his mother in law, Millie Liske.

There will be a memorial service at 1pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Jennifer Meyer will be officiating. There will be a visitation 2 hours prior, from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Favre 4 Hope.
