Joyce D. Coonfare, 85, Rockford, passed away on July 23, 2013. She was born on December 18, 1927 in Herrin, Illinois to Theodore and Hildred (Curlee) Jacobs. Joyce graduated from West High School in Rockford in 1945 and married Ralph Coonfare in 1946.
She enjoyed reading, crosswords, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and flowers. She was also a long time member of North Park Evangelical Covenant Church.
Joyce is survived by her children, Sue Jensen, Don Coonfare and Richard Coonfare; grandchildren, Lorina Faes and Jesse Jensen; great grandchildren, Kelli Faes and Chris Faes. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank Jacobs, Lynn Try, John Jacobs, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents Theodore and Hildred; sisters Pat Cook, Sandra Conkling and Judy Jacobs.
Funeral Service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday July 30, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois. Reverend Ron Meyer will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
