Kalen was born on December 19, 1962 in Rockford, the son of Thomas and Maxine (Howell) Harp. Kalen loved sports and was an avid Bears, Cubs and NASCAR fan, with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver.
Kalen is survived by his father Thomas (Betty) Harp; mother Maxine (Richard) Dohlstrom; sister Yvette Keller (David Farrey); brother Andrew Harp; half-brothers Branden (DeAnn) Harp and Brady Harp (Jennah Cox); several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.
Kalen was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A service to celebrate Kalen’s life will be 2:00 pm Monday November 30, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with a visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
