

Kathleen E. Vanderhei, 81 of Rockford passed away June 25, 2014 at her home surrounded by her children. Born June 10, 1933 in Kenosha, WI; she was the daughter of Peter and Martha (Lehman) Orth. She married George Vanderhei on June 1, 1974 in Kenosha, WI.
A former employee of St. Catherine’s Hospital of Kenosha, WI; Kathleen was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, and the local VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered for the Purple Knights & Squires Bingo as well as the Phantom Regiment Bingo.
Kathleen enjoyed dancing, singing, baking, cooking, arts & crafts, designing floral arrangements, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Laurie (Mike) Banta; devoted daughter, Trisha Bain, Peter (Amy) Weber, and David (Traci) Weber; devoted grandson, Ryan (Stephanie) Cleveland; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Tom) Andreoli; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and daughter, Terry Montgomery.
Funeral service, 2 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation, 1 p.m. to time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
