

Kenneth A. Wigell, 97, of Rockford, Il. was welcomed into heaven on Friday, July 8, 2016. Born December 1, 1918, in Rockford, Il. to Arvid and Esther Wigell. In 1937 he graduated from Rockford High School and continued to work on the class reunion committee. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a partner for Allied Tool and Die Co. and was recognized for piloting the Tool and Die apprenteship program in Rockford. He was powered by work, his hobby included operating Beth-D Christmas Tree Farms in Wisconsin. He looked forward to his annual Canadian Fishing trip. Ken was proud of his Swedish heritage and enjoyed teaching people to speak Swedish. He could be found relaxing on the golf course at Forest Hills Country Club. Ken served as a past board member of Tabor Lutheran Church.
Survivors: daughter, Deetra Hess; grandchildren, Dr. Tiffany (Bryan) Knightly, Travis (Melanie) Fizzy, Dr, Erica (Alex) Martinez; great-grandchildren, Ella, Carter Knightly, Monroe Fizzy, Elliana, Braxton Martinez; sister, Marilyn Olson; many nieces\nephews; special lifelong friend, Gladys Campbell. Predeceased by parents, Deetra’s mom, Catherine Wigell.
