Konrad A. Nyen

Konrad A. Nyen, 90, of Mascotte, FL. formally of Belvidere, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. Born on June 6, 1926 in Blair, WI. Son of Albert and Gyda (Pederson) Nyen. Veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII from 1943-1947. Konrad was awarded for being a Sharpshooter. United in marriage to Marlys Lee on September 19, 1964 in Rockford, IL. Member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Konrad was self-employed as a painter. Konrad had a great love for music and playing the violin. He was a member of the Nyens Nordic Band with his brothers and nephew Kerry Nyen in Blair, WI.

Survived by his loving wife, Marlys; children, Gerald, Shirley (Robert) Myers, Connie (Jack) Scuderi; grandchildren, Ashley (Ray) Dickey, Stephanie Nyen, Kelsey Nyen, Brooke Myers, Jacob Scuderi; great-grandchildren, Emily Nyen, Brandon Dickey, Caiden Nyen; brother, Raymond Nyen; sister, Gloria Nyen; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Alvin, Kermit, Goodwin, Gaven, Glenn; sister, Hazel.

Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 29 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation at 1 p.m. until time of service.
