
Lawrence “Larry” L. Hall, age 72, of Rockford, Illinois, was surrounded by his loved ones as he passed into his eternal reward on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at River Bluff after a long, courageous battle with Parkinsons, he was even in a clinical trial with the Michael J Fox foundation to work towards a cure. He was born March 13, 1953 in Rockford the son of Harold R. Hall and Martha E. (nee Cartwright) Hall. Graduated from Boylan High School in 1971. Larry was previously married to the mother of his children, Christina A. Porter for 44 years. Larry worked over 30 years as a header set up man in the fastener industry for Rock River Fastener Corporation, Amerock, Camcar, Specialty Screw, and 10 years as an assembler at Johnson Controls. An avid bowler who almost went professional, his favorite bowling lanes were Don Carter and Fairview Lanes in Rockford. He also enjoyed all sports as a spectator, especially watching the New England Patriots football team. Larry was known best for his witty remarks, he always had something funny to say. He was a kind, compassionate man who loved his family. More than anything he was proudest of raising “his girls”.
Larry is lovingly survived by his daughters, Melissa (Wade) Garrison of North Carolina, Cheryl (Tim) Bell of Rockford, and Jillian Hall of Freeport; grandchildren, Skylor Andrews, Xavier (Krisha) Hall, Emily Garrison, Brayden Bell, and Kaylee (Patrick) Dolan; great-granddaughter, Elaina Dolan; siblings, Stephen Hall of Chicago, David (Sandra) Hall of Ontario, CA, Donald Hall of Rockford, Richard (Sandy) Hall of Yucca Valley, CA, Kathryn Gregg of Oshkosh, WI, and Debra (Neal) Tolodxi Sr. of Rockford; along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his father, Harold Hall on September 17, 2004 and mother, Martha Hall on April 19, 2007; nephew, Ryan Hall; grandchildren, Katelyn and Brandon Bell; and brother-in-law, Keith Gregg.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with Rev Phil Thompson, pastor of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, 12473 Montague Road Winnebago, Illinois 61088
