
Lyle was born on August 7, 1926 in Rockford, the son of Adolph and Opal (Hickman) Kreuter. He married Sally Barnes on October 21, 1949. Lyle’s love for country music took him too many places. He sang at local fairs, clubs and radio stations. He appeared on the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville, TN and sang with such great artist as Minnie Pearl, Jimmie Dickens and the Wilburn Brothers. He recorded music in Chicago and Nashville. Lyle had many local fans and also sang in the church they attended. Lyle was a member of the Teamster Retirees Local #325, former member of the VFW and the Moose of Rockford and Belvidere. Lyle was an Army Veteran.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sally; daughter Judy Olson (fiancé Russ Galub); granddaughter Rena (Joe) Adams; grandsons Jonathan (Megan) Kreuter, Stephen Kreuter (fiancé Ashleigh Johnson) and Caleb Olson (fiancé Rachael Bennett); great-granddaughter Emily Kreuter; great-grandsons Ryder Adams, Weston Adams and Bennett Olson; daughter-in-law Lisa Kreuter; sister Virginia
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, son Ed Kreuter, one brother, 3 sisters and one half sister.
The family would like to thank Beloit Regional Hospice for all the loving care that was given to Lyle.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to Northern Illinois Diabetes Coalition.
A service to celebrate Lyle’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Monday October 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens
