Marilyn J. Oliver, 90, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, January 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 20, 1935 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Pete and Edna Finger. Marilyn graduated from West High School in Waterloo. She married Robert Oliver in 1978. Marilyn was employed at Sweden House and Alpine Inn as an auditor. She enjoyed crafting, especially ceramics. Marilyn loved playing sports with her great-grandson, Ethan Vanderkolk and attending every single of his sporting events. Most of all, she adored being with her family.
Marilyn is loved and missed by her children, Bruce Ratte and Renee Wax; her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Waterloo, where she was fondly known as “Aunt Marnie” and deeply loved by the entire community. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and her sister Jeanine Dawson.
