Melody Ann O'Connor

Melody Ann O’Connor, 64, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Melody was born on June 1, 1961, in Rockford to Benjamin and Lois Kelley. Melody married the love of her life, Patrick Michael O’Connor, and together they had three wonderful sons: Shaun Patrick O’Connor, and twins, Korey Alan O’Connor and Ryan Paul O’Connor whom she adored. Melody was an amazing mother. She had a nurturing, selfless spirit and her greatest joy in life was being a mother and a grandmother.

Melody faced her health challenges with a graceful resiliency allowing family members and friends the honor of becoming her caregiver. Melody loved her life and we are blessed with many incredible memories. Enjoying a hot fudge sundae will bring warmth to our hearts. We will see her in the color pink. We will feel her when we hear Elvis or Dam Yankees, watch wheel of fortune or one of her many favorite movies and we will smile when we hear the phrase, “one more”.

Melody is survived by Patrick Michael O’Connor; sons, Shaun Patrick O’Connor and Ryan Paul O’Connor; Suzie Lorch; grandchildren, Kelley Sue O’Connor and Ireland Rose O’Connor; mother, Lois Kelley; sisters, Jackie Louise Davis, Brenda Lee Kelley, and Stefanie McKinney; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Jean Miller, Zachery Christopher and Alicia Kelley, Raven Alexa Hargraves, and Amadeus Benjamin Russo; and many extended family members that Melody loved dearly.

Melody reunited in passing with son, Korey O’Connor; father, Benjamin Kelley; brother-in-law, Ronald Davis.

As deeply as we loved Melody, she would say, “I love you more”!
