

Nathan L. Leatherby, 24, of Machesney Park, passed away July 12, 2016. Born March 10, 1992 in Rockford, IL. Son of Timothy and Cheryl (Hayhurst) Leatherby. Graduate of Harlem High School class of 2010. He was a Boy Scout and went through the ranks to become a Life Scout of Troop 426. Member of North East Christian Church. Employed as a Web Developer for Audentio Design. Nathan was always smiling. He had a huge heart and loved life and loved to help everyone and anyone. He loved kids and loved to be part of the Awana Youth Program. He loved the outdoors for camping, fishing and putting survival skills to work. Mountain biking, kayaking and playing the drums were a favorite. He loved to borrow things. Christmas was a favorite holiday for looking at the lights and for decorating. Most recently he enjoyed playing Pokemon Go. Nathan loved life and lived to the fullest and always said “Remember you are Beautiful.”

Predeceased by Grandmother, Joyce Hayhurst; Uncle, David Jones; Great-Grandmother, Ruby Jamerson.
Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Saturday July 16 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation Friday July 15 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
