Nicklaus Brian Sowl

Nicklaus Brian Sowl, 25, of Rockford passed away September 26, 2019 due to a tragic car accident. Nicklaus was born on June 22, 1994 in Rockford, the son of Leroy and Amy Sowl. Nicklaus was a veteran of the Army National Guard, he loved to go Paint Balling with his friends from the reserve. Nicklaus loved riding his motorcycle, loved all of the holidays during the year and spending time with his family and friends. Nicklaus is survived by his mother Amy Sowl; father Leroy Sowl; sister Alexandria Sowl; brother Christopher Pearson; sister Kyza Cooper-Sowl; step-sisters Breanna and Jennifer; grandparents Donald (Cheryl) Sowl II; great-grandmother “Babe” Sowl; uncle Brad Guetzke; aunts Louise (Roger) Collins, Deanna (Steve) Ottens and Rhonda Sowl; nephew Skylar and niece Jaymee; several cousins. Nicklaus was preceded in death by his grandparents Mitchell (Katherine) Guetzke and Arlond (Carol) Stroud; great-grandfather Donald Sowl, Sr.; uncle Donald Sowl III.

Visitation for Nicklaus will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; service to celebrate Nicklaus’ life will be 3:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow.
