Nicolette J. Jones, 72, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 16, 1946 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Nicholas and Josephine (Loreno) Nardiello. Nicki joined Ozark Airlines as a stewardess shortly after high school where she travelled the world and met her husband Robert O. Jones, whom she married on May 24, 1969 in Rockford, IL. She and Bob owned and operated Island Products in Rockford for many years. Nicki was also a sales counselor at Sunset Funeral Home for 5 years. She was a member of Saint Bridget Church and former member of Saint Anthony Church. Nicki loved playing her slot machines, and scratch off lottery tickets. She loved traveling, and especially enjoyed her time spent in Italy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and her beloved fur baby Audrey. Nicki was known for her outgoing, spunky personality, and was adored by those she knew.
Nicolette is loved and missed by her husband, Bob; son, David Jones; daughter, Melinda (Rob Rader); sisters, Marion (Frank) Licari, and Jackie (Elliott) Bartlett; sister-in-laws, Mary Nardiello and Vivian Pearse, and brother-in-law, Anthony Capriola; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Louis and Frank Nardiello; and sisters, JoAnn Capriola, and Nina (Phil) Lomas.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August, 4, 2018 at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
