Phyllis P. Holt

Phyllis was born in Rockford on January 6, 1931, the daughter of Noel and Pearl Johnson. Phyllis belonged to the Rock Swim and Fitness Club where she enjoyed being with her friends. Phyllis was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms. She loved a good cup of coffee, spending time with family and friends, gardening, crocheting, and her beaded necklaces.

Phyllis is survived by her son Jack Holt, Christine (Rich) Freeland and their father Irvin (Bruna) Holt; daughter-in-law Harmony Holt; sisters Janice (Steve) Dullam, Margie Pederson and Dorothy Benson; brothers Stan Johnson and Bob (C.J.) Johnson; sister-in-law Bev Johnson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, son Steve Holt; brother Mike Johnson; sisters Ardis Baxter and Mary Peacock; brother-in-law Wes Peacock; sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Rockford Rescue Mission in Phyllis’s name.

A service to celebrate Phyllis’s life will be 10:00a.m.Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with visitation one hour before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made at www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com.
