Robert D. Frewin, age 94, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born on December 13, 1929 to John & Kathleen (Serrurier) Frewin. Robert married Eileen L. Stephens on April 28, 1951 in Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky. He served in the Korean War with the 101st Airborne. He was employed as an industrial engineer for Barber Colman Company for 42 years before his retirement. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 0077. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and fishing.
Robert is survived by his sons Stephen Frewin of Alaska, Daniel (Sue) Frewin of Roscoe, Illinois, and Michael (Ruth) Frewin of Lebanon, Tennessee; and many beloved grandsons, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Frewin; parents John and Kathleen Frewin; sisters Mary (Stewart) Brady and Donna (John) Peebles; and in-laws Art and Sadie Stephens.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 18 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am and internment.
