Ronald Lee Ruffner

Ronald L. Ruffner, 72, of Machesney Park passed away Tuesday February 2, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was born on October 30, 1943 in Pittsburg, PA and was raised in Latrobe, PA, the son of Jay Allen and Mary (Cordial) Ruffner. He married Geraldine L. Reid on December 29, 1999. After working for over 30 years at Ingersoll Milling Machine, Ron retired in 2002. He enjoyed snowmobiling, trap shooting, boating and spending time at home by the river with his family and friends and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his children: Rick (Lori) Ruffner, Michelle (Jeff) Krabbe and step-son Anthony Bryce (Cindy) Molitor; grandchildren: David, Brandon, Kaitlin, Dexter and Nicholas; Sisters Saundra L. Anderson and Deborah A. Ruffner (Burl Kuhns); Brother Jay A. Ruffner; special pets Cleopatra and Maxine.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, parents, Brother David Allen Ruffner and step-son Eugene Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Heartland Hospice.

A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be 2:00 pm Saturday February 6, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
