Rosella J. Sneed, 87, of Capron, IL, passed away Wednesday January 12, 2022 at Swedish American Hospital. Rosella was born in Kings Mountain, KY., on October 21, 1934, the daughter of William Oliver and Virginia Myrtle (Leach) Wall. She married John Edward Sneed on December 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2009. Rosella was extremely talented in sewing, knitting, crocheting and enjoyed cooking. The military used to bring dolls to Rosella and she would clean them up and make new clothing for them, the military would then pick them up and give them to children. She made many quilts for her family that she loved dearly. Rosella had a very generous and giving heart to her family and everyone she met and loved.
Rosella is survived by her daughter: Donna Jurs; grandchildren: Larry Ulrich, Autumn (Tom) Merrill, Angela Lowery, Derek St. Clair, Deborah (Drew) McClellan, Andrew Sneed and Robyn Simmons; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; Brother; Arthur Franklin Wall and Sister: Allene Bottoms. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons: John Edward Sneed, Jr and David Michael Sneed; several siblings.
Visitation for Rosella will be Monday January 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; service to celebrate Rosella’s life will be 10 AM on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
