Roxie E. Constant

Roxie E. Constant departed this world and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on September 22, 2019 with her family by her side. She was 71 years old. Roxie was born in Rockford, IL on July 21, 1948. Roxie attended and graduated from Harlem High School in 1966. She was married to Steven G. Drake on May 14, 1966. They raised four beautiful children together. Roxie was widowed by Benny Constant whom she married in 1995. Roxie was an active member of the Red Hat Society and resided at Cloisters of Forest Hills where she enjoyed socializing with her neighbors. She had a passion for crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren & family. Roxie enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Arizona to see her sister and extended family. Roxie will be deeply missed and forever loved by her beloved family. She is survived by her children: Christine Anderson (Nathan Scott) of Belvidere, IL, Timothy Drake (Nicole) of Rockford, IL, James Drake (Danielle) of Wirtz, VA & Andrew Drake (Julie) of Winnebago, IL; Grandchildren: Alicia Carlton (Ryan), Justin Berry (Rachel), Jonathan Anderson, Madison Drake, Chandler Drake, Drew Drake, Jordan Drake, Kaitlin Drake, Griffin Drake & Easton Drake. Great grandchildren: Lydia Berry, Josephine Carlton & Evelyn Carlton. Roxie was the dear sister of Dorothy Joesten (Don) of Gilbert, AZ. Roxie was a loved aunt to her only niece and nephew: Donelle Anderson & David Joesten. Roxie had many close friends in addition to her loved ones.

Funeral service to celebrate Roxie's life will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 30th, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park; visitation for Roxie will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family asks in lieu of flowers a monetary donation be made to assist with funeral costs. Remaining funds will be donated at a later date to an organization that was special to Roxie.
