

Born March 16, 1920 in Buckhorn, IL to Reverend Edwin and Elizabeth Cory. Lucille graduated from Xenia Illinois High School. Lucille Cory married Robert Vernon Goebel March 1, 1939 in St. Louis Missouri. Their journey eventually brought them to Roscoe Illinois.
Lucille was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Roscoe Chapter 641. She also volunteered and worked the Golden Oldies shop at Wesley Willows.
Lucille enjoyed studying and discussing the Bible and various subjects. She created and sold crafts and gave the proceeds to the Rockford Rescue Mission and various Church Missions which also included the Food Pantry located in Rockton. Lucille felt no child should ever have to go to bed hungry.
Her motto was , “I am going to live until I die.” She endured the loss of many close friends and cherished her friendship with Doris Fisher and enjoyed their many outings including Culvers.

She bragged about her 16 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren and 15 Great Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Lucille Goebel's life will be at the Roscoe United Methodist Church located at 10816 Main Street Roscoe, IL February 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M Visitation, 2:00 P.M Service. Followed by food and fellowship at the Church. Her cremated remains will be placed in her lot at Sunset Memorial Gardens Loves park IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials will be distributed between Beloit Regional Hospice, Rockford Rescue Mission and Roscoe United Methodist Church Missions.
