Gene and family - Sonja was such an important person in my softball world. We were "Pappy's Ladies".
Prior to computers Sonja gave out the game times to each team for those large Slow Pitch State Tournaments in the 80's and 90's and NEVER gave out a wrong game time. I found that just unbelievable! 
I will miss our breakfast's with Derek and most of all, my dear friend for over 30 years. 
Sonja spoke of her family often and how proud she was of all of you and watching all those baseball games and she was just sure they were playing USSSA!
My deepest sympathies to all of you. Sonja was such a very special person and a great friend. I will miss her deeply and my heart goes out to all of you. She touched so many lives.

Every time I ran into Sonja and Gene it was like we saw each other all the time.  There was always a sunny smile and a warm hug for me no matter where we were.  It made me feel so special.  My prayers are with all of you.  I will miss seeing her.

Sonja was one of the kindest, loving people I know. I have so many happy breakfast memories. Most of those memories were made at the Hollywood restaurant,and include her loving mother, Ruth. May all the loving memories she made with her family, stay in your hearts forever.

Sonja was a good friend and one of the first to show me the ropes at the RPD. I imagine she and Pappy are now organizing softball games and soccer tournaments up in heaven.

I truly enjoyed knowing Sonja through working with her at the park district long ago.  Always kind and sweet.  Sonja and gene were great friends of my parents also.  Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Today is going to be one of the most humbling days of my life.  Today I will bury my mother.  I will miss you mom.  You were always there for me no matter what.  Always on my side.  You believed in me and encouraged me through so many difficult times.  You loved us and cared about us and your memory will live forever in my heart,

We were blessed to work with Sonja at the Rockford Park District for all these many years.  She always had a smile and a cheerful greeting every day, no matter what was going on.  She was the glue that held everything together, and she loved her family.

Tomorrow will be one of the hardest days of my life, saying good-bye to this beautiful lady.  She was my mother-in-law but she always made me feel like another daughter. Marrying into this family was the best decision I made.  Thank you for your wisdom, your love, your support, your laughter, your food!, our many scrabble games and loving my children as much as you did. There will forever be a void in our lives but we will continue to make you proud. Rest in peace dear Sonja, I will love you always.

Sonja was a caring and loving mother, a devoted and compassionate grandmother and an understanding and selfless mother in law.  She took care of everyone else first.  I'm so glad my children will have wonderful and fun memories if her for the rest of their lives.  Rest in peace Sonja.  You will be missed by many.

Sonja was such a welcoming friend when I joined the Sportscore Complexes staff in 2004. It was a great pleasure to know her for the past 10+ years. I will miss her cheery greetings and knowing insights. Blessings to her family during this difficult time.
