

Rockford—Velma J. Bugbee, 72, of Rockford passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Wesley Willows. She was born May 22, 1939, in Ontario, Wisconsin to Dariel and Delphia “Avrella” (Bugbee) Winchel. On October 25, 1974, she married Joseph Bugbee in Iowa. She was a resident of Rockford for 37 years, prior to which she lived in Wisconsin. She enjoyed embroidery work, whether it was dish towels or baby quilts. She was active in the Jehovah Witness Community as a member of the South Rockford Kingdom Hall. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bugbee; her brothers, David Winchel and Rainey (Karen) Winchel; and her sisters, Alice Delap, Sherry Tracy, Sharon Scholce, Mary Peter, and Cindy Ebert. She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Monday, July 25, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. The service will be at 7pm. Visitation will continue from 12:30 to 2pm on Wednesday, July 27, at Torkelson Funeral Home, 720 Madison St., Ontario, Wisconsin. The service will be at 2pm. Interment will be in Mt.
