

Violet Thompson, 96, of Rockford, died on December 30, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Violet was born on a farm in Princeton, MN, June 9, 1914 to Otto and Delphia ( Sederberg) Engstrom. She married Lawrence Thompson in Cambridge, MN October 27, 1932. In 1941 they moved to Rockford, IL where they both lived the rest of their life. Lawrence died Dec. 12, 1984. Violet attended First Evangelical Free Church and was a member of Fairhaven Circle. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, making quilts, baking, cooking and entertaining her family. Her love and kindness will live on in all she touched. Violet was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She is survived by daughters, Lois (Richard) Seiter, Shirley Myers, both of Rockford, IL; sons, Dallas (Sue) Thompson of Ft. Collins, CO and Bruce (Pam) Thompson of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Steven (Margo) Seiter, Wayne (Sue) Seiter, Carol (Brian) Truitt, Bonnie Beck, Bradley Koerner , Nancy Farmer, Barbara (Craig) Steuart, Nina (Rich) Loveland, Denise (Marvin) Russell, Andy Thompson, Russell (Tiffany) Thompson, Diana Thompson, Levi Thompson; 16 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Mayford (Pearl) Engstrom and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; siblings, Mabel, Frances, Ernest and Lawrence; grandson, Michael Seiter and granddaughter, Diane Koerner; son-in-law, Robert Myers.
