William Joseph Hayden, 88, a long time resident of Machesney Park departed this life on Thursday, October 27, at St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1923 in Latrobe, PA, the son of Leonard and Mary Hayden. William bravely served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He married Julia Sekala, they were married for 49 years, until she preceded him in death in 1994. William worked locally for Sunstrand for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Love’s Park V.F.W. Post Number 9759. Left to share in his memory are, his children; Richard (Patricia) Hayden, Linda Hayden, Patti (Thomas) Hartwick, grandchildren; Eric, Chris, Keith, Jennifer, and Dennis, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd Machesney Park, 61115. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Rev.
