

William D. Moore, 83, Rockford, Il. was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Born November 10, 1931 in Walnut Ridge, Ar. to Carl H. and Roxie (Poe) Moore. He married Nova Lea Still and shared 64 years together. Bill raised his family in a home filled with love. He inspired people with his hard working ethics. A plumber by trade a servant by heart, offering his trade skills to those in need; building homes for Habitat for Humanity, assisting the impoverished in Honduras or volunteering at the Salvation Army, packing boxes for the needy. Bill was a member of the Local 23 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union and was recognized for 55 years of membership. During that time he was a teacher for the apprenticeship program and active in all the festivities and events.
Survivors: wife, Nova; children, William “Bill” (Jo Ann) Moore Jr. and Sheryl “Sheri” (Marc) Romine; grandchildren, Mindi Morris, Kristi Robertts, Lindsi Lightner, Britni Moore, Meghan Landi, Jenna Kiernan and Sara Romine and Derek Romine; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; host of really good friends and extended family. Predeceased by parents; brothers, Emmitt, Carl Jr., Joel and Don.
The family is deeply thankful for the care given by Northern Illinois Hospice, their CNAs and especially nurse Matt.
