Mickey was born on September 2, 1937 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of James and Willie B. Pierce. She married Murray E. Huffman in 1977. Mickey loved crocheting, cross stitching, sewing and was an avid reader. She loved her dogs, tending to her flowers and idolized her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Mickey is survived by her husband of 40 years Murray; son James (Kathy) Johnson; step-son Robert (Donna K.) Huffman; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, step-daughter Ann and two sisters.
A service to celebrate Mickey’s life will be 10:00 am Thursday February 23, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; visitation for Mickey will be from 9:00 am until time of service. Burial will be private.
