Winnie Chen Mack, 54, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025. Winnie was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 29, 1970, to Ngui Chew Chen and Amy Chen. Winnie and her family relocated to Rockford in 1980, and from there she graduated from Harlem High School. She furthered her education at Rock Valley College. She worked in the Deli at Hilander before starting her 30 plus year journey with Milestone as a DSP and Team Leader. Winnie naturally cared for others and especially loved to prepare food for others. She had a big heart, and made sure those around her knew they were loved. She enjoyed cheering her son on at his basketball and football games. Winnie was a fighter. Her cancer diagnosis in 2020 did not discourage her by any means, and she battled until her last day. This diagnosis did not stop her from being pampered – always finding the time and energy to have her nails and toes painted perfectly. She loved the color blue, and adored penguins.
She is survived by her son, Delayno Mack; mother, Amy Chen; brother, Eddie Chen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special godchildren; best friends, Beth, Tina, and Queenie; cherished caregiver, Kim Whitehorn.
Winnie was preceded in death by her father, Ngui Chew Chen, and will be laid to rest beside him in Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
