Woodrow Wilson Shrum, 90, of Rockford, was welcomed into heaven and joined his “Baby Girl” Fleta his loving wife on Thursday, August 23, 2018. Born on December 28, 1927 in Randolph, AR. Son of William Walter and Martha (Hathcock) Shrum. Veteran of the United States Army. United in marriage to Fleta Bates in 1948 and together they shared 70 years raising their family. Employed by Metal Cutting Tools Inc. for 30 plus years until his retirement. Member and Usher for 50 years at Rockford First Assembly of God Church. Most recently attending Heartland Community Church and received friendship from Pastor Wendell Maynard of First Born Ministries. Woody found enjoyment in gardening, camping and salmon fishing. He was always there to lend a hand to his family, friends and mission construction trips.
Survived by his sons, Roger (Diana) Shrum, Rick (Linda) Shrum; grandchildren, Craig (Tracy) Shrum, Todd Shrum, Lisa (Rodney) Frederick, Stephanie Shrum; great-grandchildren, Justin Shrum, Austen Shrum, Rhyan Shrum, Riley Shrum, Nathan Shrum, Kara Shrum, Alayna Frederick, Connor Frederick, Kaylee Frederick; great-great-grandchild, Raelyn Shrum; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; loving wife, Fleta; granddaughter, Paula Shrum; siblings, Ernest Shrum, Sylvia Halcomb, Vince Shrum, Freda Shrum, Velva Shrum, Betty Lemmond, Norman Shrum.
