
Betty Ann Langston Hemingway, who referred to herself as Mrs. John D. Hemingway, was reunited with her husband John on October 13, 2012 after a brief illness. She was loved into heaven by her son, Tim Hemingway, and her daughter, Becky Hemingway Dennison, and their families: Sally Hemingway, David and Carolyn Hemingway, Mary Ann and Jacob Copetillo, Rebecca Hemingway, Michael Dennison, Helen and James Fleitz, John Dennison, Laura and Adam Holder, Kathleen Dennison, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Macon native, Betty graduated from Miller High School and attended Mercer University, where she pledged ADPi. She worked for the law firm of Anderson, Walker and Reichert, married John and raised Tim and Becky. She was a member of the Exchangette Club and aided John during his presidency of State Exchange Club of Georgia. In later years, she joined PEO club, volunteered with Cherry Blossom Festival, participated in Macon Symphony Chorale and Howard Community Club. Betty loved Cherokee Heights UMC and Forest Hills UMC, where she sang in the choirs, taught Sunday School, worshipped, and served.
Her funeral service will be in the sanctuary at Forest Hills UMC in Macon on Monday, October 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
Private family burial will take place at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.
