Bill was born in Hartford, Alabama to the late Skilmon and Flora Wells. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Wells Ball. Bill was a graduate of Geneva County High School and Brasilia Business School in Mobile, AL. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member and officer of the Lions Club in Mobile, AL and Byron, GA. Local 808 NSC, Macon GA. Bill was a charter member of Byron Area Historical Society and co-chaired restoration of the Caboose in Byron, GA. He was a member of Forest Hills Methodist Church.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Home Health, Atrium Health Trauma ICU and Pine Pointe Hospice for the care given to Mr. Wells.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Rebecca Wells, son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Amy Wells, granddaughter, Katie Beth Wells, family pet, Atlas, sister-in-laws, Ella Harris, Elizabeth Clearman (Phillip) and Sylvia Clark, brother-in-law, Ted Ball and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
